I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience. The breakfasts and dinner at the Mizuki restaurant were exceptional, with delicious food and great service. The hotel facilities were top-notch, including the pool and the modern design. The location was perfect, with easy access to important temples and a short distance from the Fushimi Inari temple. this hotel was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing in this city.
Nothing to be said.

We loved our time here. The location was really nice and the stuff was affable during the whole stay! Kyoto shiyakusho-mae subway station is not very far from the venue.

Perfect hotel with excellent breakfast. View from our room was wonderful. It's 5 mins walk to the center. Loved that they had onsite restaurant La Locanda, no need to go somewhere else.

Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton in Kyoto was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine warmth and hospitality. The hotel's elegant and sleek design perfectly reflected the beauty of Japan. Our room, with its stunning view, was well-appointed and comfortable. The location was unbeatable, allowing us to easily explore the city on foot. The on-site restaurants offered a delicious variety of dishes, including a phenomenal carrot soup. We felt truly appreciated and pampered throughout our stay. I highly recommend this hotel for a truly luxurious experience.

Excellent location and reasonable pricing, compared to similar hotels nearby.
My room was facing a temple with graveyard. Rooms on the other side is facing the Kamo River.

A former resident with language/knowledge. Seek the River view room and you'll love it !
The first floor entry sign for the same priced downstairs restaurant for Washoku breakfast was confusing. Closed in 2011 ?

I had a truly exceptional experience at The Ritz-Carlton in Kyoto. The hotel exudes a modern ambiance with beautiful Japanese touches, making it a truly unique stay. The staff went above and beyond, providing outstanding service from the moment we checked in. Even though we didn't get upgraded to a suite, our garden view room was still spacious enough for our family. They even took extra care of our 2-year-old toddler, ensuring he felt comfortable throughout our stay. One staff member, Pedro, truly went above and beyond to meet all our needs and made our experience at The Ritz-Carlton unforgettable. The concierge team was also extremely helpful, going the extra mile to ensure the restaurants we chose were toddler-friendly and smoke-free. The breakfast buffet was superb, with delicious in-house made Pierre Herme croissants. I highly recommend this hotel for its luxurious atmosphere, exceptional staff, and wonderful amenities.

Nice location next to River and short distance from centre - room average - overall expensive especially breakfast which is double what I was paying elsewhere.

The hotel is located on a picturesque river where you can enjoy a nice walk or run. the view of the river from the rooms and balcony is beautiful. the Gion district and several restaurants and shops are within walking distance. the service is exceptional and the staff make you feel special. the room and ensuite bathroom are clean, spacious, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. the breakfast has a wide variety and is delicious.
The initial check-in procedure can be better organized to avoid confusion for the guests.

quiet hotel, friendly staff, good location, standart room (bigger than in Tokyo in the hotel of the same level)
Unfortunately, nobody doesn't speak English. You can have free access to the internet. There is a point of access (LAN only). You can use it free if you have own notebook or pay 100 yen pae 10 minute using hotel's computer. There isn't any free Wi-Fi points.

The rooms were of a good size for a Japanese Hotel, and many of the front desk staff spoke good english.
The air conditioning system did not work particularly well

I recently stayed at a hotel in Kyoto and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The location was perfect, right next to a small river and within walking distance to all the main sites in the city. After a long day of sightseeing, it was the perfect place to crash. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was beautifully designed. The service was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the view from the restaurant was breathtaking. The facilities were outstanding, with activities like bike rides and curated artwork on every floor. I couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience.
I did notice that the breakfast service could use some improvement. There were delays in getting our toast, and it took quite some time for our order to be served.

Good location, pleasant room.
Mediocre staff, hotel is old fashioned in its facilities. For example there is no possibility to print out boarding passes. Breakfast is expensive for what it offers. It is as if time stood still here: the hotel is 20 years behind in its management and does not really provide a hospitable environment.
